What is hired and non-owned auto (HNOA?

Hired and Non-Owned Auto aka (HNOA) insurance is a policy that protects businesses from liability for accidents involving vehicles they don't own:

  • Hired Vehicles: Vehicles that the business rents, leases or borrows for work within that business

  • Non-Owned Vehicles: Typically this would be the businesses employees personal vehicles that they use while providing work/services for you and your business. This coverage is especially needed in the Allied Health Care Industry, since most nurses and employees drive their own vehicles to go see clients/patients

HNOA insurance can help protect your business from lawsuits and other legal expenses if you or an employee is involved in an accident whilst driving a vehicle for work.

HNOA insurance does not cover:

  • Physical damage to the non-owned auto (your employees/car owners insurance would cover this

  • Accidents that may happen whilst commuting to and from work or personal errands during business hours

At Peloton, we work with reputable insurance carriers with a long history in the Healthcare Industry, and our packages are designed specifically around you, with the option to addon additional coverages by endorsement.

And what we can not provide by endorsement we can find through our alternative carriers.
